Figure 3 shown below illustrates two separate, single-tool stimulations of the same field area. Of interest are three sections of the graphs that appear in chronological order: (1) the initial stimulation increased oil production and stabilized water production (2) at the end of the first stimulation water injection is increased hence so are oil and water production, and (3) the second stimulation results in similar increases in oil production and decreases in water production. This cause and effect of increased oil and decreased water production is the direct result of in-situ seismic stimulation shifting relative phase behavior towards oil.
